Reading the news today is reminder of the correlation between ethics and leadership. Referencing the ouster of HP’s CEO, Mark Hurd, HP’s general counsel Michael Holston said, “Hurd’s ‘systematic pattern’ of submitting falsified financial reports to hide the relationship (with a contractor who accused him of sexual harassment) convinced the board that ‘it would be impossible for him to be an effective leader moving forward and that he had to step down,’ (AP: Disgraced HP CEO).
An effective leader is an ethical leader first.
