This is the third article that I have written about the Amazon Kindle and I want to take a moment to explain why. Imagine you’re a mobile executive – you have your Blackberry, laptop, and connect through VPN to your company when you’re away from the office. You probably read a lot. You read a lot of emails, trade publications, news materials, and work-related documents. Some of those documents – statements of works, CONOPS, marketing/business plans – can be lengthy and require you to read every word. Reading off a laptop can strain your eyes. You can also have your office email you the documents you need to read in a compatible format like Microsoft Word and read those documents on your Kindle no matter where you are. The revolutionary screen technology makes the Kindle like reading from the pages of a physical book. Your eyes will not strain and you can bookmark your location for returning to the same place at a later time. You save on paper and printing costs and you can preserve your laptop battery for those times when you have to connect to the office through VPN.

The topic for this blog article is a little different than most, but if you read even a moderate amount then you should check out the Amazon Kindle 2. Don’t know what the Amazon Kindle 2 is? It’s an electronic reading device that revolutionizes how you will read books, blogs, Wikipedia.org, and even computer files.

Most leaders have a lot to read. They stay up on magazines, newspapers and are always in the middle of a book. The Amazon Kindle 2 can provide you a portable, easy to carry with you, device for your reading material.

It’s like a mini computer, but unlike a PDA the screen is large enough to read a page without squinting. It uses a new screen technology, e-paper, that makes it like reading from a book. It’s not backlit, so it’s easier on your eyes and there is no glare.
